This is a bit of a late reaction, but hey, it took me time to get the site set up. And honestly, I’m just as livid and pissed off about this now as I was when I read about it on the 20th of October.

Pledges for Yale’s Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) fraternity chanted, as they marched around Old Campus (where most freshmen dorm), “No means yes! Yes means anal!” Wow. Sounds pretty nasty to me. Pretty damn pro-rape. But it gets worse. Other chants included “Fucking sluts” and “My name is Jack, I’m a necrophiliac, I fuck dead women, and fill them with my semen.”

This isn’t the first time this has happened at Yale. It’s starting to become a tradition. A tradition. No, seriously. In 2008, Zeta Psi pledges held signs that read, “We Love Yale Sluts” outside the campus’ Women’s Center, which supports rape and sexual assault victims, as well as other victims.

How does this behavior manage to go unpunished, let alone be given the opportunity to repeat itself and then still no action is taken? This is disgusting! Women are not pieces of meat, not just there for some wannabe frat boy to get his rocks off.

Sure. The president of the fraternity apologized. You know what? Big fucking deal. An apology in this case is absolutely meaningless. It’s like you went and murdered someone’s beloved little kitten and then simply gave them a dismissive wave, mumbling something that may or may not sound like, “I’m sorry.”

It’s a horrible statistic that 1 in 4 women is the victim of rape. Not just a sexual assault. Rape. So if he were really sorry for the hate speech of his house, he would have had them say, “No means no.” But he didn’t, did he?
